Welcome to our prototype What-if function
You can use the What-if tool to backtest and showcase portfolios to help you upsell investment ideas to new and existing clients.
Note: This is the flow for our What-if tool which is built into our existing Wealth platform. We will have a standalone version which will have more features as detailed below. However, we ask that you focus on the What-If outputs for now as that is what will drive the value for you and your clients when aassessing new investment ideas or portfolios.
As you go through the guide below, here are some features to look forward to as we develop our What-if product:
- An improved standalone product
- The ability to create and save new portfolios
- The ability to save What-If scenarios
- Comparing the base and What-If outputs using our proprietary Portfolio Insights
- Using the Stress Test tool to see how the What-If scenario behaves under stressed market conditions
The demo is designed so you can use the What-if tool on an existing portfolio. However, with the caveat that this would not be the future What-If flow, we also help you learn how, in the current version, you can make a new portfolio or use our Insight and Stress Test tool.
Using the What-if feature
Step 1: Access the ready made portfolio that you'd like to adjust and create a new scenario
Step 2: Make appropriate changes to the portfolio
In this case we have replaced one asset with another of similar total value
Step 3: Click "Next" and wait for your report to generate
Uploading a new portfolio
You can mimic the separate flow of the standalone tool by creating a new portfolio
Step 1: Create a new portfolio
Step 2: Upload your assets
If you opt to upload a file, the process will open in a new tab where you can download the template and upload your assets.
We recommend uploading assets dated as of a year ago to take full advantage of our Insights and Stress Test
Make sure to set the settings to transfer and choose a custodian. The upload steps are as follows:
Insights and Stress test
Use these tools along with the What-if feature.
Our Insights will give you even more talking points for potential and current clients.
The Stress Test provides further insight on how these portfolios weather changing market conditions.
Step 1: Navigate to our insights page and explore
Step 2: Navigate to the risk page use the Scenario Manager tool to manipulate market factors and see how the portfolio responds
