How do I add a new OTC instrument?

In illio, we classify an OTC instrument as any unlisted Bond, Loan, Option and other Custom Assets such as Real Assets or Real Estate.

You can add a new OTC instrument by going to the Add Investments screen and select which OTC asset to add in the "Add individually" section.

You will be presented with a box entitled "Add a position or trade". Under the name, open the drop down and click  "+ Add new instrument".

A new box appears. Enter the name of your OTC instrument. We will generate a unique identifier for your OTC asset labelled under Code. Depending on the asset, you can populate certain meta data. Finally enter the price and click "Add" to add this position to your portfolio.

Note, if you are adding a new OTC instrument as a position, it will add to your total position value and increase your overall Net Asset Value as you are transferring in this position and not deducting from your existing cash balance.
